How to Play Sudoku
Basic Rules
Sudoku is played on a 9x9 grid, divided into 3x3 boxes. The goal is to fill each cell with a number from 1 to 9 following these rules:
- Each row must contain the numbers 1-9 without repetition.
- Each column must contain the numbers 1-9 without repetition.
- Each 3x3 box must contain the numbers 1-9 without repetition.
The puzzle starts with some cells already filled. Your job is to fill in the rest while following the rules above.
Difficulty Levels
Our Sudoku game offers three difficulty levels:
Easy
Perfect for beginners. More numbers are provided at the start.
Medium
A balanced challenge for players with some experience.
Hard
For experienced players. Fewer numbers are provided at the start.
How to Play
Using the Mouse
Click on an empty cell to select it, then click on a number from the number pad below the grid to fill the cell.
Using the Keyboard
Select a cell, then use the number keys (1-9) to fill it. Use the arrow keys to navigate between cells. Press Delete or Backspace to clear a cell.
Using Hints
If you're stuck, select an empty cell and click the "Hint" button. This will fill the cell with the correct number, but using hints will affect your score.
Saving Your Game
Click the "Save Game" button to save your progress. Your game will be automatically loaded the next time you visit.
Timer
The timer starts when you begin a new game and stops when you complete the puzzle. Your completion time is recorded for your reference.
Tips for Success
- Start with the most filled rows, columns, or boxes.
- Look for cells that can only contain one possible number.
- Use the process of elimination to narrow down possibilities.
- Don't guess! Sudoku can always be solved through logic.
- If you get stuck, take a break and come back with fresh eyes.
